Emergency Care

We provide the latest in technology and our team of experts take pride in helping our patients with care.

At Ivory Dental Studio, we understand that dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly and can be both distressing and uncomfortable. That’s why we’re here to provide you with the information and care you need to address dental emergencies promptly and effectively.

Common Dental Emergencies

  • Toothache: Persistent or severe tooth pain may indicate an underlying dental issue such as decay, infection, or a dental abscess.
  • Chipped or Broken Tooth: If you have chipped or broken a tooth, it’s important to seek immediate dental care to prevent further damage and restore the tooth’s appearance and function.
  • Knocked-Out Tooth: In the event of a knocked-out tooth, it’s crucial to act quickly. Retrieve the tooth, handle it by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently with water if dirty, and try to reinsert it into the socket if possible. If not, store it in milk or saliva and seek emergency dental care immediately.
  • Lost Filling or Crown: A lost filling or crown can leave the affected tooth vulnerable to further damage or decay. Contact our office as soon as possible to have the restoration replaced.

What to Do in a Dental Emergency

  1. Stay Calm: Remain calm and assess the situation. Panicking can exacerbate the situation and make it more difficult to address the emergency effectively.
  2. Contact Us: If you experience a dental emergency during office hours, contact Ivory Dental Studio immediately. Our team will prioritize your emergency and schedule you for prompt treatment.
  3. Follow First Aid Measures: Depending on the nature of the emergency, there may be specific first aid measures you can take to alleviate discomfort or prevent further damage. Our team will provide guidance over the phone until you can reach our office.
  4. Seek Immediate Care: For emergencies occurring outside of office hours or if you cannot reach our office, seek care at the nearest emergency room or urgent care center. They can provide temporary relief until you can see your dentist.

Preventing Dental Emergencies

While dental emergencies can’t always be avoided, there are steps you can take to reduce your risk:

  • Practice good oral hygiene: Brush twice a day, floss daily, and attend regular dental check-ups.
  • Wear a mouthguard during sports or recreational activities.
  • Avoid chewing on hard objects such as ice, pens, or popcorn kernels.
  • Schedule regular dental check-ups to identify and address potential dental issues before they escalate.
